Hello Hidden Valley Families!
Congratulations! You survived two weeks of early dismissal! Onward and upward to full days next week!
Last week your student(s) should have brought home an orange folder full of information from the PTO and the district. The folder included a handy parent check list of back to school items to take care of, including purchasing school supplies and making voluntary contributions. Don’t forget to check it out!
For all of our new families, we hope to see you at our New Parent Social at the Dugout on Friday at 7pm.
Have a great weekend!
Open PTO Positions
Walk and Roll Lead - We are seeking a dependable person(s) to head up our Walk and Roll Program on Wednesday mornings before school. Duties include scanning kids who walk, ride, scoot, and carpool as they arrive at school. On special days, you even get to hand out prizes. *This does not have to be a weekly commitment if there is a committee.
Recess Enrichment Coordinator - Do you have a passion for art, legos, or an interest working with kids? Do you have a special skill you’d like to share such as knitting or origami? Help us bring back enrichment options for students at lunch recess.
Spiritwear Coordinator - We are seeking a person who would like to shadow our spiritwear coordinator this year and take duties over next year. Duties would include choosing items, maintaining a relationship with the vendor, and answering occasional emails from families.
Welcome to Hidden Valley Elementary!

Hawks Yard Duty Volunteers Needed
Parents we need you to help keep recess safe and fun! We need your grown up eyes, hands and humour at lunch and on the play yard. Shifts are 45min once a week and allow teachers and staff a much needed break. If neon orange is your color we've got a safety vest for you! This is a great way to engage with the students and get to know your children's classmates. Please click the Sign Up Genius links below or contact Jenni Gelman for more information.

Hidden Valley Spirit Day Wednesdays
Hey-Hey-Hey Hawks! Show your Hawk spirit every Wednesday! Students are encouraged to wear Hawk gear or sport our school colors, orange and blue. If you wish to purchase our amazing Hawk gear, go to our online store here: https://apparelnow.com/hidden-valley-hawk-spirit-wear-apparel
Let’s show everyone how Hawktastic we are!
Say YES to the arts in our schools!
Yes funds our art and music teacher salaries and materials through parent and community partner donations, as the state does not fund this.
The recommended amount to keep these programs funded is $900/child, but truly whatever your family is comfortable giving helps.
This year, Yes introduced tiered giving levels. If your company matches, be sure to submit... since that counts against your annual donation.
Did you know we have a lost and found at Hidden Valley? It is filling up fast! The location is in the entrance to the multipurpose room. Please encourage your children to check there for lost items. Parents should check regularly, as well, and please label everything.
